Serra Chapel is the main building at the Mission San Juan Capistrano, the "Jewel of the Missions," built by Father Junipero Serra who conducted his first Mass there in 1783. • Today, the Mission and the city are known for the annual return of migratory swallows each March on St. Joseph's Day.
