Yosemite National Park holds a special place in Paul and Kimberleigh's hearts. Kimberleigh's father introduced the family to the Yosemite High sierras in 1971 and each year thereafter the family backpacked for their summer vacation.

In college, Nic Fiore hired Kimberleigh to work summers in both Merced and Sunrise High Sierra Camps.

Kimberleigh's lifelong dream came true in 1993 when she and Paul were married in the Yosemite Chapel and held their reception in the Ahwahnee Hotel. Each year the Gavins return to Yosemite to celebrate their anniversary.
